ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
PRISONER CHOKES HIMSELF. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association, Wellington, Yesterday. The police were informed yesterday that a man named Illingworth, who was arrested at Pongaroa on a charge of vagrancy, choked himself while an inmate of the prison cells. DIED AT A GRAVE. Christchureh, Last Night. Alexander Adam, aged 75, died while assisting to dig a grave. At the inquest, a verdict of heart failure was returned. A SEAMAN INJURED. Wellington, Last Night. Bert Cornfoot, a member of the crew of the steamer Maori, met with a serious accident on board his vessel at Queen's Wharf this morning. He from the upper deck, and fractured both his feet. After first-aid had been given, he was removed to tht hospital.
