A TEUTON BRAGGART.
BOASTS WHAT GERMANT WILL DO—PERHAPS. The Globo, New York, publishes the following intimidation by one Fortineyer, who shows evident, qualifications for the German diplomatic service:— "I am a German reservist, who can unfortunately not return to Germany. From that standpoint, allow me to say something about what the patriotic German reservist thinks of this wa.r, and I can tell you that, my view is that of the whole German people. "The world bus tried to stifle Germany, to keep her in a subordinate place, to treat bor as en inferior — while she is in very truth the greatest nation in the world. Wa Germans will soon show you that thiß cannot be done. \V« will show you feats of arms that will 6eem superhuman. AJI the world )9 against us, but, we hold the world in utter contempt. Why J Because we have more* stamina, more courage, more science, more aleanly living, more culture than any other nation. f" i "This century will go down in history as the epoch when Germany burst its bonds and became world leader. Puny France, with "her lying War Office reports, is now trembling l on tlhe verge of ruin, and is getting ready to make peace. The Russians can be easily Tcatdn. They have no training and <annot shoot, and have no generals. And when that is done, we will destroy the English fleet in/ one day. You smile at that. Well, you will not rjmilo when you see it done. Our navy has a delrice which no other nation even suspects, and which will tear any hostile ship to pieces even before it gets in action. That instrument was invented in 1013 by Br Werner, of Freiburg, and is now being, placed on every German rhip. The cruiser Pathfinder was oiink bv this agency, and not by a submarine. I am absolutely certain of this. There is no hope for the British Navy. • "We will have all the British colonies (Canada included) beforn the summer of 11)15. Just watch my prediction, and the United Stntes will dare not tell us hands off. We care notlhing for your Monroe Doctrine. Tt is as Bismarck said, 'a colossal impertinence. J You arc! attempting to play a great part on the world's s!nc«. xvi'tti no .navy or army worthy of the name, and with the ability to chase dollars, which will aid you very little when the victorious German Empire calls you 1,0 answer for your partisanship. "fl -nnany stands for force—for the man with the gun in his hanrls—and that is what a,ll other nations believe in, l»io, in spite of their drivelling hv-1 pocrisy. Only we have the force, and , thev have it not. "Belgium for her resistance to our' might will be. obliterated as a country.! She is a whining beggar with a broken head who oannot stand punishment. | TTer people will be driven out to the end:;; of the world and honest Germans will ] take their place. i "T speak sincerely, buf, you/ don't: like this letter. I cannot help that. 11 eare nothing Ifor your likes or dis-i likes. Germany will march on." |
