SHOOTING FATALITY.
IHIi DEADLY PEA-RIFLE AGAIN. LITTLE) BOY SHOT AT INGLEWOOD. A little lad named Noble Taylor, the son of Mr. Alfred Taylor, of the Windsor road, Inglewood, met his death last evening as the result of a pea-rifle accident, in distressing circumstances." The facts ascertained are that the little chap, who was about 9y 3 years old, was playing at the back of liis parents' house, and an elder brother, about 19 years of age, picked up a pea-rifle standing there, and pulled tlie trigger. As he had put tlie rifle there only a short time earlier, when it was not loaded, lie was surprised to hear a report, and staggered at the result, for tlie bullet struck the younger boy on tile temple and felled him. Another brother, who had just come home to say good-bye to his people before joining tlie training camp| at Trcntham, rushed out and picked up the lad. Dr. AVhcttcr was summoned, ami the victim was brought by motor to tlie New Plymouth Hospital. The medical staff found that the bullet had penetrated the brain, and there was very little chance of life. Death supervened at about 10.30 p.m.
