CYCLISTS KILLED IN ACTION. Received 10, 8 p.m. Sydney, December 10. Latest lists show that many noted cyclists have been killed at the front, including Thys, Buysse, Pouplain and Garrigan.

A proclamation has been issued, prohibiting an increase in tho price of drinks and tobacco. Intense satisfaction was expressed in trade and official circles at the destruction of the German Pacific squadron, thereby ensuring security for Australasian interests in the Pacific, and the safe despatch of troops. Melbourne, December 10. The. joy that prevails in naval circles at Admiral Sturdec's victory is tempered by the fact that the Australians did not participate. The Navy Office officially states that after the destruction of tin; Good Hope and Monmouth the Admiralty despatched a strong squadron from European waters to denl with the German ships. This fleet has brilliantly avenged Admiral Cradock's defeat. Unprecedented enthusiasm prevails, and flags are flying.
