STRATFORD SHOW.

RECORD ENTRIES. The Stratford A. and' P. Association's show will be held on Wednesday, and Thursday of this week. Gircat as 'liave been tihe previous shows, tiiue stock and produce sibibition. of 1914 will eclipse *ll previous records. Tlio entries are 1718 all told, which is 244 ahead of last year's l total, and a record in -.[he history of this progressive association, a result which reflects the greatest credit on the officers of the association and points to an iiarly ftiMilinent of their prophecy that Btra, llford is to be the home of the greatest of Taranaki stock shows. The dog section, with its 407 entries (177 ahead of last year,) is, fully representative of all the principal breeds. It, is largely owing to tlie oare beutowed by Mr. Tom Jvirkwood on this huga \ - anine family that 'dog fanciers senil their dogs so liberally to Stratford, and the same care and consideration are to be found through the stock classes. Tlie Stratford show grounds, conveniently situated, and-'sloping gradually to the eastward, are practically werfoct in "their arrangements; the shelter of the ' hush inducing many people to make the 'how a, picnic outing. Tc encourage these the association provides hot water free, and so on. .There is to be a gnltalent in the huge collection of side-shows, and trade displays promise to be fairly numerous. The average £,how-goer will he glad to know ffliat the ring competitions Iravc filled well. The Stratford association manages tliese splendidly, so tnat there arc no weary waits between the events, and no delays in putting tile competitors through taeir work.
