CATTLE MAIMING.
A YOUTH SENT TO GOAL. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the Supreme Court a youth named Abraham Merrick, who pleaded guilty in the lower Court* to a charge of maiming and killing five cattle, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment in the lnvercargill goal. His Honor intimated he would recommend the Governor to exercise his power of committing the prisoner to an industrial school if he deemed it advisable.
