THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. Ry Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Bunedin, Last Night. The Presbyterian General Assembly concluded its sitting early this evening. The Home Missions Committee was empowered to make various grants requisite for the year's work. Mount Albert (Auckland) was raised to the position of a sanctioned charge. A report on Synod practise was remitted to next General Assembly, and it was resolved that wherever practical the first Sunday in May be observed as Bible Society Sunday. The report of' the finance committee showed that the estimated expenditure for the year was £22.10. To meet this the committee recommended an assessment on funds at the rate of five per cent. The Otago Bible Society's report, which was adopted, set forth that during its existence it had raised £15,000 and spent over .€IOOO for eolportago in Otago, sent a free contribution of £O4O to the. British and Foreign Bible Society, and £IS77 to the Nation Bibla Society, Scotland.
