HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
to-day. Tho New Plymouth Horticultural Society's annual spring show will be liclfh to-day in tliu Vhiteley and Good Tern* plftv Halls, and from present indications the fixture will he a siwoess. One of the new features is a composite exhibit of ilo'.vclrs, for exhibition only, by residents of Barrett street, and this new departure contains the gem of an idea : which, if properly encouraged, should bo developed to the great benefit of the Society by increasing and widening the interest. Nurseymen will be present with special exhibitions, and, in addition to the very large competitive classes, there are to be displays on a large scale from some of the beat gardens in the town and its vicinity. The decorated tables—an dthere are to be i'S of them—will b-e shown in the JWhitclcy Itall, where tho afternoon tea will be dispensed. The cut flowers, pot ulants, bouquet and floral designs are- staged in the Good Templar Hall. Tho Society ia making a fin« effort, undismnycd by the war, and it behoves the ipeo-1 iple -to support tire show even more { liberally than in normal times ,
