Mr Scaddcu takes the portfolio of Railways in addition to the Premiership and tho Treasury. Mr Collier takes Water Supply in addition to Mines. A JAPANESE MURDERED. Melbourne, November 25. The body of a middle-aged Japanese was found buried in the sand at Fisherman's Bend, Port Melbourne. Shot and other wounds in the head gave indications of a brutal murder. Apparently the body was buried previous to death. There is no clue to the perpetrator.
THE AFTERNOON SHIFT. Sydney, November 25. The Court has granted a prohibition to ■December 4 against Mr. Justice Ileydon further proceeding with certain contempt of court charges arising out of the miners' afternoon shift strike, the feeling with regard to which is again becoming acute. Rome developments are possible. AUSTRALIAN WHEAT SHORT. Melbourne, November 25. A conference of Premiers meets at Melbourne to consider Mr. Holman's wheat seizure proposals. A deputation of the Mill Owners' Association informed Mr. Tudor that the shortage in Victoria was likely to'reach 1% million bushels, and asked if the duty was likely to be suspended so that they could arrange to obtain supplies elsewhere. Mr. Tudor promised to refer the question of the suspension of duties to the Cabinet.
