1 DE WET ELUDES PURSUIT. A NARROW ESCAPE. Pretoria, November 23. Dc Wet with six others crossed the Yaal River on Sunday night after the remnants of his commando had been beaten back. Commandant Du Toil and iield-Coriift Hoffman, in a motor-car, overtook the fugitives near Lceuwdoorn. One, named Spies. l)o Wet's adjutant, surrendered but the others continued their fight, firing with revolvers and scattering across the veldt. Du Toil's party wounded and captured Mentz, De Wet's son-in-law. The remainder escaped.
REBELS SURRENDER. Received 23, 12.50 a.m. Capetown, November 24. Official: Commandant Holl pursued the rebels from Bullfontcin to Botliaville, where over a hundred surrendered, including Commandant Jordan and four field-cornets.
