BOWLING.

. THE AUROA CLUB. The Auroa bowling green was opened last Wednesday in the. presence of a representative gathering of residents and visiting bowlers. Mr D. A. Poole (president) welcomed the bowlers. Mr Parkinson (of the Hawera club) congratulated the people of Auroa on their formation of a club and promoting a bowling green, and wished them every sucess. After the opening speeches, Mrs Poole threw the jack and the green was declared open for play. A match, For and Against the President was played. The following are the scores, (For being given first): Paterson, Poole, Butler, Parkinson, 20; Dixon, Johnson, Edwards, Dudley, 17. Hammond, McCarty, Judson, C. Hollard, 25; Moor, Dunn, Robertson, Des Forges, 19. Wilkie, Morton, Christie, Sorrenson, 21; Parkes, Tait, M'Fie, Macdonald, 28. Callaghan, Hansen, Robertson, Lambie, 20; Nanicau, Putt, Briggs, H. Christie, 22. Tremaine, Brown, Julian, Walker, 18; Penny, Ross, Buxton, Conaglen, 18; (unfinished).
