BANNER COMPETITIONS. The banner competitions commenced yesterday in weather that was none too pleasant. WEST END v. NEW PLYMOUTH. SHW PLYMOUTH v. AVAI.TARA. 1 Four rinks of the New Plymouth B team, played against Waitara yesterday on the Waitara green. The visitors .had an enjoyable afternoon, and were hospitably entertained by the local club. The result of the contest was a win for New Plymouth by 127 to 66. Scores are as under: — Chaney, Goodaere, C. Rundle. Medley (s.) 43. V Crombie. Knuckcy, Foreman, Calder (s), 13. Jenkinson, Wood, Penn, Luscombe (s) 21 v. Goldsmith, Nosworthy, Canton, Langman (s>) 23. Hailo, Collins, S. Rundle, Morey (s) 33 v. Fraser, Kempsall, Hellier, Rattenbury (») 14. McGahey, McLeod, Marriott, A. R. Smart (s) 30 v. Eggleton, Hutchison. Young, Andrew (?) 16. FITZROY v. INGLEWOOD. The Fitzroy Club sent a team of five rinks to 'lngiewood. The green was in capital order. The visitors wero overmatched, losing by substantial margins on three rinks, but one of the others greatly reduced the lead, the final totals being* 120 and 106.
