The Turkish attacks on Bussian ports on the Black Sea failed, owing to flanking I fire from the Bussian warships. The . j Turks lost heavily. London, November 17. The -Press Bureau states that since the oucupation of Fao, in the Persian Gulf, trere have been two sharp actions in the vicinity. The enemy has been defeated with heavy* losses, and two machine-guns have been destroyed. The British casualties were eight killed and! 53 wounded, the latter including *w» officers.
Cairo, November 17. The Minerva bombarded Akatia after hearing that mines had been sent there for the Red Sea. Pourparlers failed owing to the opposition ok Gorman officers. Athens, Novomber 17. The Turkish losses during the bombardment of the Dardanelles were 260 men and two guns. The Goeben and Breslau have re-entered the Bosphoros. Petrograd, 'November 17.
