[Rain fell generally during Tuesday night, when stormy conditions prevailed m and southward of -Cook Strait, hut some districts to-day -have reported an impoorement. Forecast. —Present indications are for a rising barometer everywhere soon, and south-westerly winds strong to gale, weather boisterous with heavy showers in most parts of the country, with enow on the higher levels, and much colder conditions following AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET.
