TOTALISATOR |IN ATT.STRAT.TA. By Cable- -Press Association —Copyright. Received 17, 11.35 p.m. Sydney, November 17. A caucus on Thursday finally considers the Totalisator Bill. It is understood that there is good reason to believe that the measure will be introduced at an early date, with Government support. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. MEETING OF COMMITTEES. A meeting of the. District Committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club was held at the Secretary's office, last night, there being present, Messrs. L.A. Nolan (chairman), Gray, Pitt, Blundell, Chancy, Orbcll,, Webster, and Eraser. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. Standish, Weston, King, and Alexander. Trainers licenses were granted to H. L. Russell, A. Gilbert, J. Melville, and Charles Milieu. Jockeys' licenses were granted to T. H. Kryer, and Joseph James, Gentlemen rider's licenses were granted to Dr Paget and Mr W. W. Awdry. A large amount of correspondence was read and dealt with. ' t Subsequent to the above meeting the Club Committee met, and a number of matters -connected with the forthcoming Christmas meeting were arranged. The following privileges were granted:—Publican's booth, Mr E. Whittle; luncheon, Mr. Woolber; afternoon tea kiosk, Mrs Kirkby. The question of arranging for the musical programme was referred to a small sub-committee. The North Taranaki Hunt Club was granted the use of the course' for a race .meeting. It was also decided to allow the Taranaki A. and P. Society t<s have the use of the club's grounds for their autumn show.

Other formal matters were dealt with, and accounts amounting to £49 12s 8d were .passed for payment. NOTES. Owners and trainers are reminded that nominations for the forthcoming meeting of the Taranaki Jockey Club close on Friday, at 9 p.m., with tlie secretary (Box 33).
