THE 'SMAITORD SJuVf. Mr W. IX. Hawkins, the Liberal cand.date addressed well attended meetings at .Norfolk Hoad and Durham Road on Avonday and Tuesday ev< riings respectively. Both meetings were very appreciative, and the candidate scWd w.th the few interjeetors. He covered a lot of political ground, and ! nis adverse. criticism of the Reform administration, judging by the audiences was \eiy eflective. Mr R. Stevens presided at Norfolk Road, and Mr IW. Bridgeman at Durham Road. A number of questions were asked and answered at the meetings, and the usual votes were carried unanimously. Mr Hawkins speaks at Stanley Road this evening and Ratapiko on Saturday. Contributed.
