COUNTY ELECTIONS.

EGMONT. The county election in Egniont, resulted in the defeat of several of the sitting Councillors. Indeed, of the six sitting members who sought re-election, only two. Councillors 8. Campbell (Oeo) and Thomas Harvey (Rahotu) were returned. The chairman, Councillor Dudley, was returned unopposed for Opunakc, and Councillors Burgess and Farouhar did not seek re-election. Tile new Council will therefore comprise: Crs. Dudley, Harvey. Campbell, Fleming, Wright, Young, Meßcynolds, McXeill and Rawclill'e. The result of the election was as follows: OEO RIDING.
