'Mr. Fisher subsequently umiunncod that the (Commonwealth had engaged to lend Xew South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and West Australia money during the twelve months for public works, the money to be raised by making the note issue unconvertible. Queensland does not participate in this borrowing.
It is understood that Mr. Fisher's negotiations with the Imperial Government resulted in the latter agreeing to raise eighteen millions, which will probably lie included in the next British war loan.
