UNION BREAKS THE LAW. By cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received 4, 10.40 p.m. Sydney, November 4. In the Arbitration Court, Mr Justice Heydon delivered judgment in the case calling on the Northren District Colliery, Employees Federation to show cause why it, should not be penalised for aidin~ a strike at certain Alaitland mines 'in connection wiih the afternoon shifb i trouble. He adjudged the Federation | guilt.y of aiding the strike, and paying strike pay.
By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. ■ N Wellington, Last Night. The 'Federated Seamen's Union of New Zealand has, during the past three months, been taking a ballot of members on a proposal to remove the union's headquarters from Dunedin to Wellington. The proposal was carried by 423 votes.
