Tiniaru, October '2S. 1 Tile South Canterbury Ivenncl Club ; held its lirst show to-day, including the ; South Island challenge for British bull- ! dogs. There were 133 pens. The best > bull dog (male), best pup, and best New ; Zealand-bred, went to one pen, exhibited > by Mr.-?. K. Collie, of Wellington; the best female, Dr. Govt, of Duuedin. ! SNOW IS OTAGO. SOUTH CANTERBURY SHOW. i Tiniaru, Last Nig'nt. The A. and P. Show opened to-day in chilly and windy weather. Entries in sheep were 317, or 54 less than last year, horses 413 (or 32 fewer). Other classes showed improvements. E. Kelland scooped the pool in English Lcicesters, and 1). Grant, of Timaru, in Border Leieestors. The latter divided with D. G. Wright in Romneys. R.
