The consumptive demand continues to decrease, and buy- '* ers are all operating strictly from hand to mouth. Supplies are fully 30 per ' cent, less than normal. A good deal of the Danish coming along i 9 not quite up to best quality, and is sold at lowest prices. Colonial arrivals this week consisted of: Per s.s. lonic, 1100 boxes New 1 Zealand; s.s. Tropic, 200 boxes Australian. ' Cheese.—The market is very strong. The Government authorities have be \i heavy buyers, and with a <hig portion oi the Canadian supplies being taken jp by the Canadian Government, who haw presented this country with 50,000 boxet for tlie use of the forces, the supply ) coming on the market is comparatively small. Colonial arrivals this week coniisted of: Per s.s. Eimutaka (West Coast), 575 crates New Zealand; s.s. lonic (London), 228 crates New Zealand. Bacon—Wiltshire cut has been a little ' quieter throughout the week, and an oc--1 casional concession was made to keep 3 tlie goods selling freely.
