NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. A progressive pairs tournament was I played on the New Plymouth green; yesterday. There was- a splendid -muster of members, and the full green, was occupied. The "progressive'' scheme ;has taken a firm hold, and yesterday's gathering was very enjoyable. The I prizes, which were donated by Messrs P. W. J lull and A. K. Smart, were won by I Mes.-.rs I''. Plimitreo (skip's) and J. ! MeLcod (leads). The law of the mat is causing a little trouble in nearly all clubs nH'ccted by the new' rule.
