Tho amendment was defeated by 24 to 19, and the clause passed. i A discussion also took p"iuv. upon clause 131, which provided for fr'w prosecution of parents, who, after being notified by the medical inspector,- neglected to obtain medical or surgical troatnuent for a child. Some niednbers contended this clause was too drustic, especially as applied to poor people. Tho clause was eventually passed, with only a verbal amendment.
The final clauses up to 159 were passed, and the commit ti*i proceeded to the consideration of the lichedules. Tho edheduJes were passed without material amendmiuit, and the Bill reported.
Upon the third reading, irr. Atsuore pointed out that it iris largelp upon the recommendation of the MaoKenzio Government that the Bill was brought down The Bill was read a tlhird time and passed.
