MANNING THE MAITAI. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Wellington, October 17. The trouble with the firemen of the Maitai lias been practically overcome. Those who came in her from San Francisco have been paid oil', and eleven out of the fourteen required to take their places had signed on up to one o'clock. It is expected that the steamer will get away to Sydney to-night.
SLY-GROG SELLING. Masterton, October 17. Henry Rosson and Frederick Johansen were charged at the Court this morning with selling liquor without a license. •Tohaiiscn was lined £4O and Rosson £25.
