SEXIOR-SERUEANT HADDRELU ' Advantage was taken of the civil sittings of the Magistrate's Court yesterday, when there was a good muster of the local members of the liar, to formally farewell .Senior-Sergeant lladdrell, who is enjoying three months' leave of absence prior to retirement on a we'.l-earned superannuation. Mr A. Croo!;e, S.M., referred in eH'ogistic terms to the manner in which Senior-Sergeant lladdrell had always tfulfilled his duties, lie paid a tribute of praise to the impartial yet zealous way in which the Sergeant hud always conducted his cases, and his endeavour to secure justice on all occasions, laying especial stress on his willingness to give information whenever asked for it. In conc'usion, he hoped that the Sergeant would long lira to enjoy life free from the onerous cares and responsibilities that had heretofore devolved upon him. On behalf of the local Bar, Mr Frank * Wilson, the president of the Law So«iety, heartily endorsed the remarks that kad fallen from the Magistrate, and joined in the wish that Senior-Sergeant Haddrell wou'd lofig live to enjoy the pleasures of private life and the super- % animation to which he was so freely ' entitled.
