1 THE OPUNAKE DAIRY COMPANY. All the annual meeting of shareholders Mr. J. M. Hickey, chairman of directors, presided. The report was read as follows: —During the year, ended 30th June, 1914, 8,739,79211)8. of milk were received, and from this 377,3001bs of commercial butter manufactured, giving the result of lib butter to 23.161bs milk. The average test was 3.77 and the over-run 14.4. The average payment for butter-fat fot the season was lid, and there now remains a surplus of £296 7s 4d to be dealt with, which, with the amount already paid, represents a value for butter-fat for the whole year of 11.2U1. Tie report and balance-sheet were adopted.

The election of directors resulted as follows:—Kina Road Creamery, Mr J. A. Luskj Ihaia Road Creamery, Mr J. De Castro; factory, Mr .T. M. Hickey; and Messrs. F. Carter, A. McGuaig, L. Luckin, and M. Hickey to complete the Board. Mr G. W. Sogers was re-appointed auditor at a fee of £6 6s.

Resolved that the surplus be disposed of as follows:—The one per cent, be paid on subscribed capital, £3B 16s; that 5 per cent, be written off for depreciation, £244 6s 9d; leaving a balance of £l3 4s 7d to carry forward. On the motion of Mr S. Campbell, seconded by Mr C. Humphries, junr., it was resolved to contribute to the Empire Defence Fund, on a basis of half per cent. on the net value of produce shipped whilst the war continues, provided the majority of dairy factory companies contribute, and that a war rate is not levied. At a meeting of directors held subsequent to the annual meeting, Mr J. M. Hickey was elected chairman.
