It was decided that a meeting of ladies he held to consider the matter of holding a bazaar. The sum of £IOO was forwarded to the central fund in Wellington. It was decided to hold a jumble sale on Saturday, October 3, the business people to close for a couple of hours during the saie. The Clifton Rowing Club held a successful euchre party and dance in tlie club's hall on Tuesday evening, when sixteen tables were occupied with cards. The first ladies' prize was won by Mrs. Max, the second by Mrs. J. Taylor and the third by Miss llellier. The first men's prize was won by Mr. X. Sampson, the second bv Mr. Maiiu White, anil the third by Mr.'lT. .Spurdle. After supper, tlie usual dance was h'.'ld. Mr. Buchanan acting as M.C. The music was supplied by the Feek orchestra. The work of forming a track to the beach by the Seaside Improvement Committee is now finished. The new track will no doubt be greatly appreciated by the large numbers that visit that locality. especially on Sunday afternoons.
