MATTHEWS, GAMLIX AXD CO. Matthews, Gamlin and Co. report a fair yarding of stock sit their Inglewood yards last Wednesday, springers and store cows showing a decided improvement on late sales. There was rather more enquiry for young cattle. We quote:—Springing heifers, £5 to £7 12s (id; small and-late, £3 lite to £1 7s Gd;. sound pews, £4 to £5 15s; store cows, £3 10s to £4 'ss; forward do., £5 to £<i Ds; yearling steers, 32a to £2 lis; heifers (dull of sale), 20s >to Sis; hog-cU, 13s 3d."'

LONDON DAIRY PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs K. Griffiths and Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated London, July 31, 1914: , Butter.—General market is panicky, owing to war and rumors of var, and prices are very irregular. Danish: Copenhagen came unchanged. Market is firm. Siberian: Arrivals to this country continue heavy, but with the fear of supplies ceasing altogether a material advance has been made and stocks are well cleared. French and Irisli: Firm, owing to moderate supplies. Australian: There is very little on hand, and quotations are more or less nominal. New Zealand: A few stored butters have, been sold at 120s to 1225. Cheese.—Market has been quiet, with quotations from Canada a little easier in the earlier part of the week, but at the close the market is getting some of the war fever, and prices are now advancing.
