Mutton.—Wood demsvndiorall .qualities at higher p>r.i<m Very few forward sates are being inside, as holders aire not anxious to sell arrival. Canterbury mutton, 5%d per lb. for lightweight, North Island, 5%d, ewes sd. The demand is chiefly for very cheap meal
Lamb. —Canterbury, 6%, other than Canterbury 6%d light-weight. Beef.—Good demand continues. New Zealand hinds, 7d, fores, 5%d, chilled Ihimda 6%d, fores 5%d. No Argentine beef was shipped last week. Butter.—The market fa steady, .with. lititle alteration in prices. Danisih steady, par cwit., IECs to 1325, Siberian slow, litis to 122 a, Australian slow, 118s to 1245, Irish ervumwy ■ steady, 118s to 126*;. Grain.—The market remains firm,, with no material change. Australian wheat, 45s c.ij., Garton oats 32s c.i.f. I Hemp.—The market is lifeless and quotations nominal. New Zealand good fair grade per ton £24 10s, fair £22. j Wool. —The market is firm, with general and active demand for all grades of medium and coarse crossbreds. Cheese.—The market is firmer. Canadian white and colored per cwt. 71s to 725, New Zealand white 71s to 745, colored 70s to 725.
