CORRESPONDENCE.
HELP THE iaDDIES,
To the Editor.
Sir,—l heartily support the suggestion | that a collection should be made of all I cast-off clothing, particularly children's, for the purpose of sending to distressed families in England during the coming ; winter. The suggestion is such an excellent one that I should like to see it taken up throughout the Dominion. Personally, I ihave nothing of the kind, but lam prepared to give cash. Our drapers would be able to very materially help in this matter by giving some portions of their out-of-date stocks that are valueless. If this could be made a Dominion matter no doubt an exceedingly useful gift could be sent to the poor of England. Might Ibe permitter to make a further suggestion—that the school children throughout the Dominion be supplied with collection boxes, and that some Saturday be set apart for a Dominion street and house-to-house collection of cash, this cash to he the New Zealand kiddies' contribution to the distressed kid ies at Home?—l am, etc., DELTA.
