NORTH TARANAKI HUNT.
LAST OF Till': SEASON. The last meet of the .season took p'.ace at Hie Muster's ('Mr A. 11. Halcombe), at Urtemii, on Thursday. There was a company assembled of at least a hutulred, wfeo we.re most hospitably entertained at luncheon and afternoon tea. .Before hunting began, two jumping competitions were arranged over six flights of hurdkw in a paddock in front ■of the home. The winners were Messrs Hut'.-er's "Dick," and B. H. Chaney's •Star Lass secondhand Messrs E. ißonk's Trinket first and Puke's bay mare second. The prizes were, for the first, z pai- of stirrups and -bridle, and for the seconds, cigarette tiohta and pipe, these being given bv the .Master. A deligh'ful afternoon's hunting then, followed, and when the .patity cajne in, Mr and Mrs flaleoiuV were, thanked for their liosnital-ity. During the afternoon the huntsman was tCianked for the way the pack had been worked during the season.—Mail,
