HOCKEY.
EXGLAXD v. TARANAKI. TO-DAY'S MATCH. The English ladies' touring hookey team arrived in New Plymouth last night and were welcomed by the local hockey enthusiasts, Th'is morning's arrangements include morning tea at tnc invitation of a member of the Victoria •League, a visit to Pukekura Parle, and lunoh as the guests of Miss Andrews. This evening they will attend the recital of "Enoch Arden" at the Good Templar Hall, and to-morrow there will be a trip to Mount Egmont. The Taranaki team is as follows: Coal: M. Arthur ■ Right back: A. Stott. >Left: E. Lynskev. Right half: K. I'enn. Centre: L. Stott. Left: S. MeCraeken. Forwards: E. and T. King, M. McEwen, E. Reid, M. -Stohr. Emergencies: .Back, E. Andrews; half, A. Fryday; forward, L. Hughes. The visitors come, with a great reputation. The local girls have practised assiduously, and experts consider that the Taranaki team will fully extend their doughty opponents. The match commences at 2.30 p.m., on the Sports ! Ground. ' j j =
