BUSINESS REVIVAL.

TJJMPGRAKY SCARE AT AN END. One of the best-known commercial travellers in New Zealand, who represents a big English house that manufactures tweeds, dress stuffs, etc., speaks most reassuringly of the . prospects of trade (says yesterday's Dominion). During the past week he had visited several places, and interviewed many clients, and in no case was the amount of his order reduced owing to the war. Indeed, one big client in Napier had increased his order .by 25 per cent. Our informant states that he has received cable messages from headquarters at Home to- the effect that there will be no difficulty in executing orders, and-none in delivering them. The fact that the war risk had dropped right down to 3 per cent, indicates that trade is rapidly returning to normal. "I know," said our informant, "there are some travellers who arc going about saying that thdy cannot get orders, and asking what is the use of calling on clients. Why, their very attitude is bound to depress the client,' and is reason enough for him to close down on orders. On my experience, I should say that some of the houses are feeling tho pinch largely on account of the attitude assumed hy their travellers. If ■a man goes with a long' face, and an 'I-suppose-you-haven't - any - orders - in-these-times' expression, he is going to get exactly what ho is looking for nothing. iWhy, this is the time to jump in, with all the travellers for German and Austrian stuff well settled. This is where the English manufacturer gets a little of his own hack, and time, too."
