ENTERTAINMENTS.
THEATRE ROYAL. FUFD NIBLO COMPANY. The .1. ('.. Williamson. Ltd.. oome.iv season, beaded by Mr Fred Niblo, and 'Miss Josephine Cohan, announced to commence next Friday night with "The Fortune-hunter,"' is evidently claiming a good share of public interest. Mr. Niblo was here as Waliiugl'ord, but Miss ■ losephine Cohan was prevented from coming to N«\y Zealand by illness. "The Fortune-hunter'' not only provides Mr Niblo and Miss Cohan with rich opportunities which have enabled them to create a. record success, 'but also gives other -members of the company most congenial purls, and includes some excellent stage effects, notably a real vain .shower, in which one of the most artistic and episodes of the play is enacted. The play is reported as "bubbling over with the brightest fun and permeated wifii the true poetry of human nature." On Saturday, the hist .night of the season, the .1. o. Williamson promise to show a strong attraction in the exhilarating comedy "Officer mti." which is at present drawing crowded houses in Wellington. Mr Niblo and Miss Josephine ( ohan are happily cast in this production. The box plan for-both plays opens to-morrow (Wednesday) morniier at 9 a.m. at Collier's. EMT-TRE PICTURES. Picture-lovers are. reminded that the present programme of .Empire Pictures will be, finally screened to-night. The lathe big star, "hi Mid-Atlantic," together wiili Barker's sporting film, "Liverpool Grand National. 1!)!4." and supporting programme, should draw a rmmper house. Reserves as usual.
