A MIXER'S SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Thames, August 17. Patrick Smith, aged 31, ,an unmarried man. who was a patient at the hospital, committed suicide) yesterday by blowing oil' his head with gelignite. Smith was a sull'era- from miners' phthisis. He affixed a cap, fuse and charge of gelignite, lighted the fuse and awaited death. The explosion blew his head oil' his body and shattered the windows. At an inquest a verdict of death while of unsound mind was returned. The police are. enquiring where the deceased obtained the gelignite. A FISHERMAN'S DEATH. Auckland, August 17.
