STRIKE PRISONERS TO BE RELEASED.

ANNOUNCEMENT IN PARLIAMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last-Night. In the House of Representatives tonight, the lion. A. L. lierdman, Minister of Justice, announced that after consultation with the Chief Justice, the Government had decided to remit the sentences of six out often prisoners now in gaol in connection with the recent strike. The names of those who would be released were: VV. H. Lawton, C. F. Beaumont, Thomas Auckland, H. Holland, Karl Johnston and Max Wolfe. ' There were four others whose sentences it was not proposed to remit owing to previous convictions.
