DISTRICT NEWS.
RAHOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent). On Monday afternoon the ladies of the Wesleyan Church Guild and ot'her friends met to wish Mrs. A. Nelison, who is leaving the district, good-bye and God-speed. Rev. Featherstone, on behalf of the friends, said they were very soi'ny to lose. Mr. Ncilson from the district, and wislhed Mi', and Mrs. Ncilson good health and prosperity wherever they made their future home, and asking the president of the Guild (Mrs. Fe-itherston) to present her with a lady's silver-mounted companion as a i .nncntii of her stay in Rahotu. Mr. .Wilson very feelingly responded for Mrs. Wilson. Afternoon tea was then partaken of, and later Mr. Hnghson presented the two children with suitable hooks on behalf of the Sunday School. ;'-*!.I the singing of "Hod be with you" brought a very pleasant afternoon to a close. Thirty ladies met in ihe 'mil on Tuesday for the purpose of ,-iial ii:g arrangeim nls to provide comfort. :'or those going lo the front. Mrs. Willcox was appointed secretary and treasurer. Subscriptions were Mien taken up in the room, and about £lO 10s was collected. With the singing of the National Anthem tin- meeting was brought to a close.
