FIELD AMBULANCES.
To the Editor. Sir—The Bible-in-Statc Schools League is appealing through its local committee for donations towards the cost of two fully-equipped Held ambulances which will accompany the contingent now leaving our shores. The fund is, of course, absolutely distinct from any other, and being devoted to the relief' of suffering only should appeal to all classes of the community. Two of our fellow-towns-mon, Dr. Home and Mr. Bert Dowling, will necessarily be closely associated with these jambulanecs, and no one knows how soon others of our friends anil neighbors may bo grateful for their services. The League has undertaken ito bear the whole cost, estimated at ..CIOOO, and it is to be hoped that Taranaki will contribute its quota. It is not intended to make any personal canvass for funds, but contributions will lies thankfully received by any members of the committee, or mav be "handed to me.—l am, etc., C. E. BAKER.
