Asked what the Government intended doing as to the remiassion o„ sentences on prisoners concerned in the strike Inroubles, the Minister for Justice (th.> Hon. A, L. Herdman) said that petitions for remissions of sentence are no'.v before tSie Petitions Committee of the House, and nothing could be done until the report of that committee had been received.
