HOPES OF AN AGREEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. London, August 9. It is understood that the Government, during the fortnight's adjournment, will endeavour to effect an agreement between the Irish parties. Failing an agreement, it will propose to prorogue, reassembling on August 25. and obtain the Royal assent to the Home Rule Bill, giving a pledge to introduce an amending Bill early next session. The Royal Commission on the gunrunning at Howt'h and the shooting jf civilians has opened. Mr Harrel gave evidence that he invoked military aid.
