The match between Okato and Inglewood for the Sole Cup eventuated at the Recreation Grounds oo Saturdav, ii: the presence of about 200 spectators, and resulted in a win for the coastal team by six points to nil; and they thus win the cup from its present holders, Ingkwc od The game wis a willing one, mostly confined to the forwards, though at times there wore brief passing bouts. Okato forward's played with more dashi than the Inglewood men, whilst the coastal backs were much safer, and it was to that fact that they j)\ved their victory. Almost from the kick-off Okato were forced, but their ionvards then gained the supremacy and Play then rushed' down the field. Smith was thrown out at the corner jn'st 'before he could ground the ball. High kicks by Eustace and Putt were well followed up by Carey, Hill and Co., and the Reds' line was- in danger; hut Raynor relieved. Offside play gave Putt a shot at goal, which fell short. He was awarded no charge, but faulty handling caused a scrum. Okato stiil pressed, and from an infringement Eustace had a shot and landed a goal. The ball was followed up fast, and an Okato man touched it down. The goal' was awarded. Soon afterward", from a scramble, O'Sullivan scored for Okato, and Eustace just failed to goal. The spell ended: Okato C, Inglewood nil. In the second spell Eustace soon had two shots, which just missed. Inglewood essayed a fine hout of passing between F. Nicholls and Raynor Bros., but it was spoilt hy hanging on. Eustace saved. Inglewood pressed, Atu, Olsen and Ivaralus in the van, hut Carey broke through, and Inglewood's chance went. The Reds still pressed, and from infringements in scrambling rivsh.es Miles had two shots, which fell short. Carey, Eustace, Hill and Putt removed play to the other end, and a hefty movement, nearly resulted in a score, the hall being forced just in time.
