ADMIRALTY PRECAUTIONS

I PRIVATE WIRELESS SYSTEMS j PROHIBITED. [ TREMENDOUS ENTHUSIASM IN BRITAIN. London, August 5. Admiralty control (has been established over wireless. It provides that all vessels must dismantle their installations on arrival. All private wireless stations except those engaged on public business are closed. A proclamation has been issued authorising the requisition of merchantmen for naval purposes. There were impressive scenes at all the railway stations in the United Kingdom when the regulars, Territorials and naval reservists entrained for various parts. There was tremendous enthusiasm at Bristol, where thousands bade farewell to the naval reservists. An alleged foreign spy was arrested at the Admiralty wireless station near Grimsby. He was supposed to be a German officer. In the struggle Private Filbert was bayonetted in the leg. The Jockey Club is considering' the suspension of racing. The Government lias requisitioned many motor 'buses. Many drivers are seeking admission .to army motor transports to avoid unemployment. An Order-in-Council has been issued placing t/he control of railways in the hands of the Government,

In the House of Commons, Mr. Lloyd George stated that he was considering the matter of food supply, and would submit a scheme in a few days. A report from the Argentine states that the Banks and Bourse have been closed.

I There is a tremendous rush of recruits Ito London and Woolwich. The city rcI sounds with the blare of bugles, the j tramp of assembling troops, and the cheers of multitudinous crowds. Trafalgar Square, Downing Street and the approaches to Parliament House and Buckingham Palace are packed day and night. Union Jacks and Tricolors are displayed everywhere. The declaration of war was received with unbounded enthusiasm and continuous cheering. The King, Queen, Prince of Wales and Princess Mary received tremendous ovations when they appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Several Germans have been arrested in various parts of England for espionage.
