ANTI-FRENCH FEELING RUNS HIGH. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright, ■ Sydney, August 4. .It is reported from tint New Hebrides that'the British officials are inquiring into trouble which lius arisen regarding an alleged attempt by the French officers to invade the. laud of a New Zealand trader and storekeeper at Vila. It is staled that the French officials sent a posse of police to pull down a fence. Scuffling followed and a French Lieutenant of Police ordered a number of Britishers to be arrested. The police did not obey the order. The British resident was jntoinied and ordered the French to desist from their attempts to make an inro<;d pending an inquiry. Feeling in the matter runs high.
