Airs. Bull. Ghristchiirch, who has been the guest of .Miss Cunningham, has returned.
Mrs A'esander "was liostess to a bridge party last Wednesday, and the first and mystery prizes wore presented to Mrs H. Stockor ami Mrs. A. 15. Fookes. Last .Saturday 11 rs. Chancy gave a very enjoyable bridge party, which resulted ,111 iiiss Ilompton winning first prize and Mrs. Stockcr .second. Amongst those present were:—Mcsdames UlundeU, Courtney, .\ledioy. Strieker, 11. Kussell, Hills, A. B. l'ookes. Alexander. .lack Wilson, Addenbrooke, Jones and Messrs Ilempton, Crant, Wade, Bayly (2). Mrs Ilugli Daily entertained a number of guests at bridge last Tuesday afternoon. The prize winners were ill's. 11. Kussell and Mrs. Leslie Webster. Amongst those present were: Mesdames Heard, l-'raser, S. Teed, Medley, Stoeker, Renaud, Chancy, Russell, Matthews. Alexander. E. Blundell. Addenbrooke, James Wilson. Les. Webster, Hirst, A. MacDiarmid, las. Wilson, and Misses D. iiaily, Wade, and C. Bayly. On Monday evening a very enjoyable and successful bridge party was held at Mrs Xoalc's. Vogoltown, in aid of the local Sunday School funds. There were over a dozen tables, and the winners were Mrs. C. M. Hill, Mrs. W. Tribe (Christehureh), and Mrs. W. Crawford. All the visitors brought toys with which to furnish a stall at the forthcoming bazaar, and as a result it will benefit considerably. A dainty supper was served in tiie dining-room, and all voted the evening most enjoyable. On Thursday evening a party of town folk paid a surprise visit to Mrs. Xcals's, also with the object of assisting the fir.'Mu'onniig bazaar in aid of the Sunday Fi'hoo!. ouch member of the party making a contribution of a parcel of handkerchiefs. Miss fiertrude Ilnswcll, the; leading lady of Mr. .T. Williamson's latest 'dramatic company, which will visit Xcw I'lymontli on Tuesday next with "The Arjtvlc Case." made piod at once wlien tin; company opened in Auckland. Miss Boswell had lioth an American and African reputation before she came to Australasia. She is a charming and winsome lady, and a delightful actress, and incidentally our lady readers will he interested to learn that her dresses she wears for the stnjre are ravishing.
