DEMAND FOP. TREE PLANTING. By Telegraph.—Pruss Association. Wellington, July 2'J. The A. and I'. Associations' Confevence carried llu- following motions:— That action be taken to obtain a reduction in the present -high c <k>t of trtificial manures in the Dominion, either by representation through the MinisLe" for Agriculture or in such oilier manner as may lie deemed advisable. That the planting of the Central Plafe.m and other parts of New Zealand be discussed. That a director, who shall be trained in forestry, be appointed to ta.lcc Ui>; management of the Forestry Depart- j meiit. ' J That the sand dune, of ;Ne\v Zealand be retained by the Lands Department and handed over to the Forestry .Department to plant with expedition. That for the purpose of growing sleepers for future use on the railways, the whole of the suitable available reserves be planted with i-uilable kinds of tress.
