SHAKES AND FINANCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. London, July 28. At the Hireling of the shareholders of the Union Bank, Mr. Sturges announced that the directors would submit to a special meeting proposals to subdivide shares into shares of lower denomination. C'rilliUis and Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals;, Mcsars Mills and Sparrow, dated London, July 19, 1914. BUTTER. The market continues generally steady, and production is not increasing as fast aj was anticipated. Weather conditions are not favorable. We are not getting hot dry weather, and in several parts we are told that the supply of milk is already decreasing. Danish.—-Copenhagen is one kroner (Is 2d) up with a steady enquiry. Production continues about 4000 casks weekly more than the same time last year. French.-—Supplies continue light, but as this description has relatively been dear, prices have eased 4s to-day. Siberian. —Supplies are slowly increasing, and prices for shipment are firmer. Spot demand continues steady. Australian.—There lias been a good arrival .this week, and the goods arc clearing well. New Zealand.—Quotations are more or ;less nominal, owing to light supplies. Colonial arrivals this week are: Butter: per s.s. Wiltshire, 10,000 boxes of Australian; Cheese: per s.s. Remuora, 18.480 crates of New Zealand. [ CHEESE. I New Zealand—The market has coni tinued quiet throughout the week with an occasional Is less on white. Supplies are clearing steadily.
