THE EDUCATION BILL.

I'KOTEST BY COUNTRY DISTRICTS. At a well-attended meeting of householders of Denbigh road, held on Monday night, the following resolution was passed—That this meeting emphatically protest* against the abolition of the Taranaki Education District as proposed in the Bill now before the House, and is of opinion that such a step is detrimental to the best interests of education in Taranaki; and that the district as proposed in the Bill is unworkable; and that the schools in this district can be best worked from A T ew Plymouth, the present educational centre for Taranaki."

A public meeting was held in tlte Warea hall on Monday night for the purpose of protesting against the Tarunaki Education Board being abolished and merged with the Wanganui district. There was a large attendance, and ihe following resolution was passed: "That this meeting strongly objects to the Taranalci Education Board being abolished, and thinks it will be in the best interests of education in this district for the Taranaki Education Board to have control of the whole of the sialiools in the- provincial! district of Taranaki."

At a well attended meeting at Okato yesterday, a resolution was passed protesting against the proposed abolition of the Taranaki education district.
