ADVANCEMENT OF SCIENCE.
DELEGATES TO WORLD'S CONGRESS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. . • Auckland, Last Night. A number of British and American ' scienftsts, and one representative of ' Germany, arrived in Auckland 'by the "Makura, en route to Australia, to attend the annual conference of the British Association for the Advancement of • Science. This party represents a small proportion of distinguished men and women to attend the conference, the great majority of whom are travelling to Australia from Europe direct. Amongst the arrivals was Professor J. J. Fimllay, M.A., Ph.D., Professor of Education in the University of 'Manchester since 1903, and a well-known authority on education. Professor Findlay will remain in New Zealand x or a few days for the purpose of delivering lectures. His first lecture was given in Auckland to-night, and his second Willbe given in Wellington on Thursday evening. He continues his journey by • the steamer leaving Wellington on Fn- ' day night.
