TREMENDOUSLY INCREASING COST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, Last Night. The foundation stone of .tie new hospital, being erected at a cost of £17,451, was laid this afternoon, the Hon.' R. Heaton Rhodes, in the presence of a large gathering, performing the ceremony. Tn the course of his speech, the Minister said that very few people realised the loss to a country on account of it* sick and inefficients, and even in this young country the Government and the hospital boards alike would be signally lucking in their duty did they not face . their responsibilities, in'this respect. The tremendously increasing expenditure in tliis direction must be courageously • faced. .
