Downes presided, the following resolution was passed; "That this meeting strongly protests against the proposed abolition of the TaranaM Education District, and I asks the Government when they finally J decide the new boundaries of the Education Districts, to give to the Taranaki District a considerably extended area/' It was further decided to send copdes to Taranaki members, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education, and the loader of the Opposition. The school committee was requested to watch the further progress of the Bill and caJl another public meeting if necessary.
