J tie Nelson education Board to-day adopted a resolution approving of th-3 general principles of the Education Bill, land congratulating the Minister upon !its introduction. The board also resolved to protest, against the proposal t<- form a West Coast Board, including Buller, Inangahua, Grey and Westland. "SNUFFING OUT" A DISTRICT. Timaru,*Last Night. Three town school committees met together this evening and passed resolutions protesting against the "snuffing out" of the South Canterbury education dietriet. FRANKLEY ROAD PROTEST. At a well-attended meeting of houseI holders in the Frankley school on Mpnj day night, at which Mr. A. C. Downes presided, the following resolution was passed; "That this meeting strongly protests against the proposed abolition of the TaranaM Education District, and I asks the Government when they finally J decide the new boundaries of the Education Districts, to give to the Taranaki District a considerably extended area/' It was further decided to send copdes to Taranaki members, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education, and the loader of the Opposition. The school committee was requested to watch the further progress of the Bill and caJl another public meeting if necessary.
